CBD, short for Cannabidiol, is a compound produced by the cannabis plant that has been used for wellness for thousands of years. It is part of a family of compounds called cannabinoids, which can be extracted from the cannabis plant, and have various positive effects on wellness. While THC is also considered a cannabinoid, and is psychoactive (gets you “high”), CBD is not psychoactive at all.
CBD is one of several cannabinoids that have various effects on the body’s endocannabinoid system. The endocannabinoid system helps the body regulate itself, and can have a significant impact on mood, sleep, pain perception, anxiety, digestion, and many other aspects of our well being. Overall, the endocannabinoid system serves to balance the body between fighting injury or disease when needed, and maintaining homeostasis (balance). CBD helps to enhance this system, stimulating it and improving communication to better react to the body’s needs.
Many leading doctors, scientists and experts in the field believe that combining CBD with the other naturally occurring cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids found in cannabis plants may offer a range of benefits never before seen in the pharmaceutical, food, or nutritional supplement industries. Known as the “entourage” effect, utilizing a “broad spectrum” CBD product which contains the full range of cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids appears to have a superior impact, compared to just pure CBD (known as CBD “isolate”). CBD helps promote balance within the body, helping you feel Young At Heart!
To remain compliant with federal law, all of our products contain CBD that is extracted from hemp plants (not marijuana plants), which must contain less than .3% THC to remain legal. A special refining process then removes any trace amounts of THC, ensuring that you are receiving a THC free product.
If you are on any medications or have and medical conditions, always consult your doctor or physician before taking any CBD supplements. Your dosage will vary based on your weight and the results you are seeking, but always start at a lower dose, and slowly increase the dosage over time.
CBD for Pets
You may be surprised to know that even our furry friends have endocannabinoid systems! This means that they can also benefit from CBD supplements. Similar to humans, a pet’s endocannabinoid system helps with sleep, mood, appetite, muscle movement, and other health functions. Adding CBD to your pet’s routine can help support their endocannabinoid system, which will likely help their body stay in balance.
While you should consult your veterinarian before administering CBD to your pets, the dosage will vary based on the size of your pet. Always start lower and slowly increase the dosage.
Note: The efficacy of CBD & hemp oil products has not been confirmed or evaluated by the FDA. These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
